DEERFIELD BEACH
Just south of the Palm Beach County line is Deerfield Beach, named after the many deer that once roamed the area. Deerfield Beach is part of Broward County and is located on the Atlantic Ocean, just 20 miles north of Fort Lauderdale and three miles south of Boca Raton.
Deerfield Beach was once an agricultural community until the late 1940s when tourists discovered the town’s scenic oceanfront. Since then, the city has seen great growth heavily influenced by tourism and a highly diversified economy that includes office services and manufacturing as its main industries.
Today, Deerfield Beach has expanded to include a commercial district to the west around areas of I-95 and the Florida Turnpike. Near the beach, residents will discover a range of hotels, bars, waterfront restaurants, and many tourist-related businesses. The city also offers a variety of fine dining establishments.
Deerfield Beach has easy access from both the north and south by US-1, State Road A1A, I-95, and the Florida Turnpike, making daily commutes a little easier. One of the area’s biggest attractions is Deerfield Beach which features sandy shores and a long pier that extends into the ocean.
